Earlier today I talked about my hopes for 51 Worldwide Games (Clubhouse Games: 51 Worldwide Classics outside of the UK) on the Switch. Although, there’s one feature that exists that seems to have cropped up through the magic of checking the website!
According to the UK’s Nintendo Official Store, if one person owns the game, other people with Switches can download “free supplementary software” and can play together locally. From their website:
Free supplementary software will be available that allows players to connect in local multiplayer with someone who owns the full version of the game. Additional accessories, games and/or systems may be required for multiplayer mode, sold separately.

This will only work with local wireless. Unless the game has an option like Mario Kart 8, where 2 players can go online from one console, online play will still need separate purchases and consoles. Hopefully, single joy-con gameplay is possible to let this happen.
